Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of a stimulus fading strategy on putting accuracy in two adults with severe mental retardation and one adult with profound mental retardation. Results showed that following a systematic fading of putting guides, the three participants increased accuracy in making 1.5-m putts during post-training assessments on a practice green where training occurred. These results also maintained at, or increased above, post-training levels at a two week maintenance check on the practice green. Similar increases in accuracy were monitored during post-intervention generalization on a local golf course putting green.
