A special issue is being planned for JAPNA around the topic of “Workplace Violence”. Papers are invited that explore the concept of workplace violence in the health care setting and the spectrum that it represents.
Accepted submissions might involve the following topics:
Conceptual definitions of workplace violence
Specific causes of increased violence
Settings in which nurses practice or provide intervention after violence occurs
Creative and innovative interventions aimed at preventing workplace violence
Discussion papers that explore the societal influences on increasing workplace violence
Influence of substance use disorders on violence in the workplace
Special populations such as children, adolescents, or individuals with cognitive disabilities
