Abstract
This article describes the development, implementation, and evaluation of a successful program between the health care unit at the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center (PWCC) and the baccalaureate nursing program at Idaho State University (ISU) in Pocatello, Idaho. Linkage programs such as these are a vital part of any academic applied science program. In these programs, students are required to participate in practicum experiences. Because-of this, faculty need to link with institutional health care service providers to enable student learning. Information and essential ingredients necessary to begin a linkage program from both a corrections and education perspective are discussed so that replication of the program is possible.
