Abstract
This article presents birth weight outcome data for 200 pregnancies at the Indiana Women’s Prison (IWP) over the last 4 years. Overall, 5.5% of the pregnancies at IWP had low birth weight outcomes. The rate was only 2% for women who were incarcerated for more than 4 weeks and got prenatal care. These outcomes were better than the published outcomes for pregnancies in the State of Indiana.
