Abstract
Grounded within Donna Haraway's theory of feminist objectivity that foregrounds split selves, embodied vision, and situated knowledges, the author tells of his experiences with the medical practitioners who performed his hip replacement surgery. The story unfolds in three episodes: the first highlighting the trickster, a second his conversion into a cyborg, and the third a trickster/cyborg hybrid. Reflecting back on the story, he suggests how Haraway's feminist vision might well be enhanced by laughter, vulnerable feelings, and evocative storytelling.
