Abstract
More than once, here and elsewhere, we have asked, What do we, ethnographers, do when we write? The author’s guess is that ethnographers commit themselves to the page and there, on the page, search the between of an ethnographer’s on-the-ground experience and a reader’s at-the-desk understanding. Here is a day’s search from Colombia in 1992.
