Abstract
A content analysis of 15 major research journals shows that research into telecommunications has a strong presence, with the most frequent contributors at the assistant and associate professor ranks. The subjects most emphasized are about broadcasting and video (about 83%), with cable and STV accounting for 7% of the article research. Articles on new technology amounted to just under 10% of telecommunication article totals. Journalism Quarterly published more telecommunications research than did the other journals in the study.
