Abstract
Based on a survey of communication and noncommunication college majors, this study, using factor analysis, finds that communication students absorb professional values in the classroom. Similar to the conclusions of Weaver and Wilholt, these data find students can be divided into “adversary,” “interpreter,” and “disseminator” types. Journalism training represents socialization as well as the teaching of skills.
