Journalism in the First Democracy

Abstract

Greece, with a population of less than eight million people, supports 300 newspapers; Athens, a city of a million, has 19 major newspapers. The author describes the main lines of Greek newspaper organization and reports on the frankness of writing in sex and crime stories.
