Abstract
Newspaper coverage of a shooting committed by a mentally-ill veteran shows an advancement over treatment of similar crimes in the past, according to a study of four daily newspapers and a Sunday supplement magazine. But shortcomings of the press coverage still remain as challenges to improved performance.
