Response to “Notes on ‘Revisiting the Knowledge Gap Hypothesis: A Meta-analysis of Thirty-five Years of Research’”

Abstract

We greatly appreciate Gaziano's invaluable comments¹ on our meta-analysis. The comments gave us an opportunity to review our meta-analysis from a fresh perspective.² In this note, we would like to address issues raised by Gaziano's critique. We first clarify how we tested the knowledge gap hypothesis in our meta-analysis, an issue that seems to have raised the greatest concern. Then, we move on to address additional issues one by one. Finally, we conclude with our perspectives on future knowledge gap research.
