Abstract
Research agendas currently being pursued in education journals represent avenues of inquiry largely unexplored by J&MCE contributors. In keeping with the practice of building on existing scholarship and advancing theory by repeatedly testing hypotheses, it makes good sense for those whose research interests would lead them to J&MCE to look also at the education literature for questions and hypotheses that could be applied more specifically to JMC teaching and learning. This essay's purpose is to discuss some contemporary fronts in the education literature that could be valuable if adapted and applied specifically to journalism and mass communication education.
