Abstract
This article examined the reflection/transmission phenomena of a Shear wave at a non-ideal interface between a porous-piezoelectric layer half-space and a functionally graded viscoelastic half-space. The expressions for the reflection/transmission coefficient are obtained in closed form when the Shear wave is incident on a functionally graded viscoelastic half-space. The graphical calculations for a number of parameters, such as the bonding parameter, inhomogeneous parameter, and layer thickness, are shown as reflection/transmission coefficients with the angle of incidence. Furthermore, an analysis of the phase shift in relation to the angle of incidence is conducted. These graphical analyses reveal the substantial influence of these parameters on the reflection and transmission behaviour of Shear wave propagation. The investigation of acoustic energy reflection and transmission at interfaces is essential across numerous domains, including signal processing, transducer technology, medical ultrasonic diagnostics, and the evaluation of composite and smart structural systems.
