Blocking effect of double-row periodic pile barriers with honeycomb-pored structure on vibration isolation

Abstract

The vibration isolation performance of innovative honeycomb-pored composite-pile structure was studied under various moving loads. Large-scale indoor modes tests were conducted to simulate the vibration induced by moving loads using special M-waves. The novel honeycomb-pored composite-pile structure was composed of multiple holes in concrete piles with damping materials. A new type of piezoelectric sensor was used to investigate the impedance attenuation of the honeycomb-pored piles at different speeds. By simulating different moving speeds and loads, the pile length, the row spacing, and the velocity variation were compared and analyzed under various working conditions. Results show that as moving speed increases, the impedance before the piles shows attenuation compared to the vibration source. With an increase in pile length, the isolation performance improves. The smaller spacing yields superior vibration isolation performance. The experimental results of honeycomb-pored composite-pile structure on vibration isolation can provide verification references for theoretical analysis and numerical simulation.
