Abstract
Parents needs have often been neglected. They frequently feel alone and confused, and they regularly receive incorrect advice from well-meaning, but ill-advised sources. Educators can provide parents with knowledge about the characteristics of gifted children, how they are identified, and whether they are being educated appropriately.
Parents can learn the best ways to work with the school in their efforts to support gifted education. They can organize and participate in support groups. And finally, teachers can encourage them to get involved in activities that meet their personal needs that are unrelated to the needs of their children. GCT
