Abstract
There is a continuing controversy in education involving the need for computer literacy for all students; however, there is little argument that gifted students can benefit from some consistent exposure to computer activity. Virtually all of these students are headed for the university; many to advanced degrees and positions in professions, sciences, and business. Regardless of which educational or career path they choose, gifted students need additional exposure in math and science, a working knowledge of the uses of computers, and an understanding of collection, manipulation, and analysis of data.
