Abstract
As I begin my fifth academic year as an “ex-pat” lecturing in gifted education at a New Zealand university, I've been pondering the culture in which I find myself. I recall arriving in New Zealand, expecting some exotic differences between the southern United States from which I came and this lush, green island in the Pacific.
