Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic is the big public health problem globally. The infection mainly manifests as acute respiratory illness. In hematology, the hemorrhagic presentation is an important possible clinical problem. 1 The low platelet count might be a cause of hemorrhagic disorder. Regarding thrombosis, there is limited data. A recent report showed the interrelationship among COVID-19, coagulopathy, and antiphospholipid antibodies. 2 Here, we would like to share additional data according to public official report of CDC (https://ddc.moph.go.th/viralpneumonia/) of Thailand, the second country in the timeline of this novel coronavirus outbreak 3 on antiphospholipid syndrome in COVID-19 patients. From accumulated 2369 COVID-19 patients (April 8, 2020) with 30 deaths, 1 patient (0.04%) had antiphospholipid syndrome. This is the first report on coincidence between COVID-19 and antiphospholipid syndrome.
