Abstract
The Aldo Leopold Leadership Program (ALLP) was begun in 1998 to better prepare environmental scientists to engage with the public and interact with the media. ALLP fellows learn skills that will enable them to better understand the various communities in which environmental science is used and to more effectively share their knowledge of environmental science with media representatives, policymakers, and the private sector. This article describes the training and some of the activities of the ALLP fellows.
