Abstract
A large sample of normal adults was administered a measure of design generativity, the Make A Figure Test. This test allows for creative, unstructured responses with more objective scoring criteria than other design fluency measures. Tentative normative data are presented for three age groups, young adults (16–34 years, n = 100), middle aged adults (35–64 years, n = 27), and geriatric adults (65–87 years, n = 34). Excellent interrater reliability estimates were demonstrated for this measure. Convergent validity values for the Make A Figure Test and the Ruff Figural Fluency Test are also reported. The Make A Figure Test may be a good measure of executive functioning that allows for novel design production with less subjective scoring criteria than other Figural fluency measures.
