Abstract
Leadership development programs are proliferating throughout the country. Based on a life-long developmental perspective, the model concentrates on increasing the knowledge of students to meet the complexity and changes in society. Due to the many misconceptions of charismatic leaders such as existing only outside the organization and being mysterious, charismatic leadership seems not to fit into the model. This article presents why and how charismatic leadership can be included in a leadership development program. Special emphasis is given to the social constructive approach that avoids the traditional misconceptions of charismatic leaders and the teaching methodology of an established course.
