Abstract
Changes in the global work environment are forcing organizations to consider an alternative form of leadership labeled SuperLeadership (Manz and Sims, 1989). The aim of a SuperLeader is to build an organization of self-leaders to foster employees to lead themselves. Self-leadership is an extensive set of strategies focused on the behaviors and thoughts that people use to influence themselves (Manz, 1992). We focus on the changing theories of leadership leading to the evolution of SuperLeadership. Examples of SuperLeadership are given to prove the powerful existence of this process in organizations today.
