Abstract
The framework proposed is based on the idea that a model of the human individual could provide a basis for organizing human factors in environmental design and research. Several levels of structure are defined: anthropometric, physiological, psychological, social-psychological, social, and cultural. Such a framework will provide a conceptual background that will assist in navigating within the diverse domain of human factors and will allow for more adequate conceptualization of design situations. The framework is intended to guide research design, interpretation of information, and decision-making in Human Factors studies.
