This procedure allows a designer to evaluate the overall ergonomic quality of a computer-based workstation represented by full-scale mock-ups. The result of the evaluation is a profile of ergonomic quality along four workstation dimensions and a composite index of overall quality. The profile allows the equipment designer to rank order alternative designs or competitive equipment.
