Abstract
This study reviews recent literature on factors that influence the trust, acceptance, and use (TAU) of sustainable automotive technologies. A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA framework and included peer-reviewed research published in English from 2018 onward. The review focused on studies from the United States and Germany. A total of 24 studies met the inclusion criteria. Key influencing factors were categorized into six themes, including technological, economic, environmental, social, psychological, and infrastructural domains. Factors such as perceived ease of use, environmental benefits, and charging station availability supported TAU. In contrast, concerns about driving range, cost, and battery issues limited adoption. Improving system reliability, reducing barriers, and enhancing user experience appear essential for broader adoption. Findings can inform policy, design, and outreach efforts in sustainable mobility.
