Abstract
As the global aging population increases, critical challenges arise for healthcare, economic, and social systems. Technological advances in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) offer potential solutions, however, these technologies also pose significant challenges. This panel brings together experts who provide their perspectives to emphasize the need for age-inclusive, ethically grounded, and empirically informed approaches to developing artificial agents that ensure enhancing, rather than compromising the wellbeing, autonomy, and safety of aging populations.
