Abstract
Understanding emotional reactions to robots is becoming increasingly more important as technological capabilities expand. Just as computers have evolved, so have robots. This evolution has lead to significant applications across a wide variety of social contexts. This study examines the affective judgment of multiple robotic platforms across various contexts. Significant differences were found in both positive and negative affect ratings. To further explain the results, future research is proposed to investigate the specific physical robotic characteristics that elicit both positive and negative emotional response.
