Two closed calcaneal fractures with interposition of the flexor hallucis longus tendon in the subtalar joint are reported. The radiographic findings of dissociation of the superior medial fragment of the posterior facet from the sustentaculum talus are presented. The rationale for surgical treatment is discussed.
