Osteochondritis dissecans of the body of the talus is a common entity; however, osteochondritis dissecans of the head of the talus has not been found in the orthopaedic literature. The authors report a case of a defect in the talar head following trauma to the ankle, which has radiographic characteristics of osteochondritis dissecans.
