Abstract
Thefoundation offamily systems theory is that all members in afamily are affected by the actions and experiences of any one member As a member of a family, the child with a physical or medical disability has an effect on each of the other family members and on thefamily unit itself Pediatric physical disability is explored within the context offamily systems theory and the stress, coping, and grief processes within families. This article's primary aim is to present a conceptual framewvork and intervention strategy models that counselors can use when counseling families with a child who has a physical disability.
