Abstract
Spiritual issues routinely surface in doing individual and couples therapy when chronic illness is present. In fact, there is a predictive pattern of spiritual and life meaning issues that clients face in coming to terms with chronic illness. These issues can be effectively processed in therapy with a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP). The article describes this pattern of spiritual issues and then illustrates this therapeutic intervention with a case study including a session transcription.
