Two cases of ataxia as the primary symptom of lithium toxicity are presented. The authors discuss these cases in regard to previous literature. Usually, lithium toxicity is suspected only after a combination of several symptoms appear. This report points out the possibility of lithium toxicity presenting with only one symptom. The possibility of a synergistic effect between Phenytoin and lithium is suggested in one of the cases.
