Abstract
Choosing a consultant to work on behavioral process issues in organizations is a difficult task. It requires understanding of what these types of consultants actually do and how they work. Elements to look for during the search include positive chemistry with the client, a diagnostic bias, intellect, ability to understand the environment, ability to build relationships, and knowledge of professional limits. this information is best obtained by spending time with prospective consultants and talking with their clients. Ultimately, the client needs to trust his or her emotions.
