The article examines the effects of communication apprehension (fear of talking)
on participation in small groups. It reviews the literature on communication
apprehension, presents information regarding high communication apprehen
sion generated from three in-depth group interviews with identified high
apprehensives, and discusses the implications and applications for trainers
working with small groups.
