Abstract
This manuscript gives insight into the mind of the action or associate editor when making decisions regarding the revise and resubmit process. Based on personal experiences, I offer advice regarding what authors can do to increase the odds the revision will be a success. The goal of the article is to encourage authors to evaluate the revision process from the editor’s perspective—the person who has access to the full range of available information. Viewing the revision from an editor’s perspective may help authors approach several aspects of the revision process in ways that enhance the likelihood of a positive outcome.
