Abstract
We report the successful treatment of an adolescent with unilateral cleft lip and palate using asymmetric maxillary anterior segmental distraction osteogenesis (MASDO). The patient presented with severe skeletal Class III malocclusion, retruded maxilla, and leftward midline deviation. MASDO effectively addressed both anteroposterior and transverse discrepancies without compromising speech function. The space created by MASDO facilitated prosthetic restoration and mesial movement of maxillary molars, with distractors serving as bone anchorage to prevent reactive effects. As a result, good facial esthetics and tooth intercuspation were achieved, with no discernible relapse after 2 years of retention.
