Abstract
This article, and the accompanying poem, express the author's encounter with grief from the death of a complete stranger, Tracey Jane, who died in Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. The author reflects on some of his previous experiences and feelings associated with his own personal grief and bereavement. The article describes the circumstances surrounding the writing of the poem titled “Tracey Jane.”
