Abstract
If an organization had a catastrophic incident in a foreign country where one or several participants were seriously hurt or had died, would the organization know what to do?
What should have been done to reduce the chance of such an incident? What should be done at the moment of the incident? What steps must be taken after the immediate crisis is over?
This article focuses on the unique risks and safety challenges of conducting adventure programming in foreign countries. It attempts to examine a few of the policies and practices that might be considered as programs operate internationally.
