By reviewing the training of medical professionals, one can identify simi-arities as well as interesting possibilities for the preparation of education professionals. On a very basic level, the fields of medicine and education hold the following in common:
• Both fields are practice-oriented.
• Both fields require individuals with problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Interpersonal relationship skills are a requisite for success in either field.
• Information in both fields multiplies daily.
• Lectures alone cannot convey the skills required for success in these fields.
