This article is a report of one effort to directly influence state education policy discussions through a coordinated plan. The report is presented as a case study. The case study includes a description of the development, implementation, and outcomes of a state legislative relations plan. Recommendations to others seeking to influence education policy include: become involved with the State Education Policy Seminars; secure sponsorship of activities from a foundation or educational laboratory; and seek policy discussion participants who are leaders in their constituent groups.
