The Bafa Bafa simulation (Shirts, 1977) offers educators a means of increasing students' cross-cultural awareness while simulating a foreign experience. This article describes seven instructors' experiences using the simulation and students' positive reactions to the experience. Recommendations are made regarding the best methods for implementing the simulation.
