Abstract
The economic transitions taking place in Central and Eastern Europe affect management education. This article describes one North American's experiences and observations during his 2 years of working with management faculty at a Hungarian university. The post-Socialist academic environment is examined, as are the obstacles to reform-minded efforts and prospects for change. Finally, a few suggestions are offered to any Western faculty member contemplating a foreign educational assignment in a transitional economy.
