Abstract
This article presents a simple strategy and exercise for getting students to examine their thoughts and feelings about leaders and leadership. Students are asked to write a brief biographical sketch on a leader of their choice. When the papers are returned, students engage in a series of tasks designed to reveal their leadership values, idealizations, and identifications.
