The authors describe the evolution of their approach to helpingstudents learn team-buildingskills in a new “gateway” course for an MBA program servinglargely part-time working professionals. The authors describe the obstacles they had to overcome to achieve these goals and identify three key components of their approach to team-building: managing student expectations, addressing challenges and opportunities posed by diversity, and supporting and rewarding team development.
