Abstract
The function of an icebreaker is to break ice. Ice can occur in many forms and is not restricted to the beginnings of courses or conferences. An icebreaker does not have to be a warm-up. If it breaks ice then it is, by function, an icebreaker Ice can be a severe hazard, and not all icebreakers should be consigned to the category of triviality.
