Abstract

The growth in technology is giving each of us increasing opportunities for appreciation of the world's problems and its opportunities. Worldwide computer networking is increasing understanding among peoples. New technologies, such as nanotechnology, add new dimensions for exploring both inner and outer space. We must hope these technological advancements will at last help to bring us social enlightenment. But first, we must examine what science can and cannot do.
