THE IMMIGRANTS is a HyperCardTM stack to use on a Macintosh computer which allows students to adopt an Irish family immigrating to the United States in 1840. Students make decisions for them regarding employment, housing, and budgeting for 2 decades. There are five activities: problem solving, reading, writing, mathematics, and social studies. Teachers may have students work on the activities in small or cooperative groups, which then would include speaking and listening activities as well.
