Based on empirical data drawn from both clinical client and normal control populations, a new instrument for the measurement of positive goal attainment is devised—the Self-Development Project Check List-90 (SDPL-90). Five factors are derived: interpersonal dependency, interpersonal intimacy, social assertiveness, self-individuation and self-acceptance. Factor analytic data are provided, and alternative models in self-development are conceptually contrasted.
