This article discusses the social education derived from a group living community service program. It outhnes the format and philosophy of the program, discusses the house meetmg process, highlights the stages of intensifying tension and release, and defines the role of staff in assuring the group progression. Notably, greater commitment and group awareness are attained through "muddling" over the basic tasks of maintaining the group living situation .
