Abstract
As a McGrath Award recipient, I’ve been afforded the immeasurable opportunity of sharing my thoughts directly with Small Group Research readers via this essay. Rather than focus on recounting what my collaborators and I have published over the last several years (which you can all certainly read if you’ve a mind to), I instead focus in this essay upon how and why I’ve navigated academics and pursued the research path I’ve followed, what—if anything—we might learn from it, and whether or not it’s been worth it.
